This 2nd of December, 2019 marked the ceremony of appointment for new ten members at the DGAFFC. An event at the Winnerway Dongguan Hotel introduced the new by-elected members. A lecture by Dr. Fu Lang, Standing Deputy Chairman of Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association on the topic of “Public Diplomacy and People to People Exchanges” followed the ceremony for honouring the by-elected board members.

Sapiens Global and opportunities under the 3C3C Project for FACIAP, Parana State Federation of Chambers of Commerce
The 3C3C Project – Three Cities, Three Continents, created and managed by Sapiens Global is a platform to integrate chambers of commerce, governmental agencies and entrepreneurs, defined in groups of three cities in three different continents.
Last September, Mr. Helio Ciffoni, Sapiens Global’s CEO payed a visit to Mr. Marco Tadeu Barbosa, President of FACIAP at his office in Curitiba, Brazil. Along with Mr. Ciffoni, the Secretary Executive of CODESUL, Mr. Wilson Quinteiro, gave his testimony about the 3C3C Seminar attended by him and also explained the expected opportunities for the companies from Parana State.
Tokyo Cafe Show 2019
Sapiens Global joined Minato Mirai Co. Ltd, introducing a high quality Brazilian products at the Tokyo Cafe Show 2019.
This year, the event was held at The Pacific Yokohama Convention Hall, attracting thousands of people in a busy 3-days show.
The Anti-Mosquito Project
We are a few weeks from the new summer season in Japan. Every year, when the hot and humid season breaks, the mosquitoes are everywhere, as they need just standing water and some heat to breed. This year, Sapiens Global is developing a project to use a new technology to repel mosquitoes, not killing, protecting the environment using nanoparticles of a wide used non-toxic repellent.
New Trends in Brazilian Intellectual Property
Following the initial presentation, Mr. Akiyoshi Imaura, Director of the Regional Cooperation Office of the JPO came to an overview of Brazil/Japan PPH Agreement. Discussions on Protection of Patents and Recent Developments on trademark prosecution and perspectives for Madrid Protocol were in focus, too. The final presentation, “How to effectively enforce IP rights in Brazil”, by Mr. Joaquim Eugenio Goulart, partner at Dannemann Siemsen, has led to a succession of questions and answers, with some specific questions about difficulties faced by Japanese companies in Brazil, regarding Intellectual Property and the long time required to process the applications.
Sapiens Global took the opportunity to better understand the situation in Mercosur as one of our clients is requiring patents and trademark registration to cover Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
